Jorge Masvidal didn’t get the payback he wanted on Colby Covington in the cage, so he attacked his former friend and opponent at a Miami steakhouse.
Covington defeated Masvidal at UFC 272, but the contest wasn’t the bloody war that fans hoped for. Instead, it was about Covington draining Masvidal’s energy with his wrestling and seeing out the victory.
However, Masvidal didn’t need an octagon to get another crack at Covington as evidence by the incident in Miami Beach, with police called after Masvidal reportedly confronted his fellow MMA star.
Jake Paul, who is another former friend turned enemy for Masvidal, was not impressed with Gamebred’s actions.
He tweeted: “Masvidal is a bitch for ambushing Colby. Couldn’t hurt him in the cage so try to blindside him?”
In the video of the altercation obtained by TMZ, Covington can be heard saying: “He’s over here swinging, trying to come at me, and I ran…”
He is then heard asking social media star Bob Menery: “How would [Masvidal] know I’m here?”
“I don’t know,” Menery responded in the clip. “You’re all over the internet.”

Masvidal released his own video shortly after the incident became public and he insisted that for what Covington has said, their bitter rivalry is not over.
He said: “I’m calling this show your face challenge. Wassup, I’m from Day County. You talk that s*** you’ve got to back it up. That’s how my city rolls, man.”
In a tweet aimed at Covington, who made jabs about Masvidal’s children in the lead-up to their fight, Masvidal said “Good morning to everyone except those that think talking about someone’s kids is cool.”
Covington and Masvidal were close friends during their days at American Top Team and they actually lived together at one point.
The pair even appeared in a commercial together when they were teammates and cornered each other in the UFC, but after a dispute emerged over whether Covington had paid his coaches or not, Masvidal turned his back on Covington.
Paul has been itching to fight Masvidal but has recently turned his attention back to Conor McGregor. The YouTuber turned professional boxer has made UFC boss Dana White several offers to make the fight happen.
